Since the early 1990s when Kehinde Olusegun Olatokun observed his National Youth Service at the Central Bank of Nigeria, he has diligently and conscientiously been handling the all-important and sensitive financial hubs of several organsations. As the Bursar of the private-minded First Technical University, Ibadan, he now finds handy the experience, professionalism and discretion he garnered when he worked at the CBN and other institutions such as the Office of the Auditor General, Oyo State and the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where he was a Deputy Bursar.

Kehinde Olusegun Olatokun was born on the 4th of January, 1965 to Pa Samuel and Madam Yinyinola Olatokun, both from Ode Iye in Ibadan, Oyo State. He had his primary education at Islamic Mission Primary School, Onikokoro via Olatokun Village in Lagelu Local Government, between 1971 and 1976. He had his secondary education at Orita Ajara Community Grammar School, Ibadan, between 1980 and 1985. After having his A/Levels at the Oyo State College of Arts and Science, Ile-Ife, between 1987 and 1989, Olatokun proceeded to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where he had his Bachelor of Science in Accounting between 1990 and 1993. He later earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same institution in 2000.

A fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), Olusegun possesses a certificate in Electrical Data processing (EDP, 2005). He is an Associate Member of Association for Financial Professional (AFP) USA, Associate Member, Chartered Institute of Public Accountant (IPA) Australia; and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CITN) Nigeria.

After the CBN youth-service stint, Olusegun worked as a Team Leader, as the Senior Auditor at the Office of the Auditor-General, Oyo State, Ibadan. In 2003, he secured an appointment at the Bursary Department of the OAU, as the Principal Accountant, and rose to the position of the Deputy Bursar in 2011.

He served in various capacities as:

  • Principal Accountant in Charge of Financial Information System
  • Chief Account Grants & Agencies Division
  • Deputy Bursar, Cash Office Division
  • Deputy Bursar (Financial Accounting).

Olatokun was appointed as the Acting Bursar during his sabbatical leave at The Technical University, between 2017 and 2018.

He has attended various conferences and workshops locally and internationally, across Africa, Europe, America, and Australia. Olatokun has also managed many grants and agency donations while he also managed a World Bank Project as a finance officer.

He has won many awards and recommendations and is happily married and blessed with three wonderful children.
