TECH-U Scholars

Brainy, committed, focussed and excellence-achieving, Tech-U Scholars are the First Technical University undergraduates who perform brilliantly in their academics to the extent of securing topmost grades. To qualify for the scheme, a student must get at least 3.5 GPA.

The University regards the Tech-U Scholars so highly that it pays the one with the highest grade in each department N15,000 monthly allowance, while every other candidate with 3.5 and above receives N10,000 – also monthly. The student with the highest overall grade point gets N20,000 every month. The scheme is sponsored by the Josephus Foundation, founded and funded by the Chancellor of the First Technical University, Chief Tunde J. Afolabi MFR. To continue to enjoy the scholarship, every scholar must be able to maintain the GPA of 4.5 and above.

Once they are able to maintain the high standard, they savour the financial reward and other related honour throughout their stay at Tech-U. An example of the associated honour is that Tech-U Scholars participate in Academic Procession during important events like the matriculation.
